When you hear the word Ethiopia, you may think of its rich culture and long history. However, in recent years top of mind has become the natural disasters caused by climate change that have sharply increased, and how severely the environment and people's livelihoods have suffered serious damage.

HOPE staff will talk about how for more than 20 years HOPE has successfully conducted charitable activities in Japan and implemented its projects in developing countries that alleviate poverty, provide access to clean water and quality education. He will also discuss why HOPE’s work is being introduced to Hiroshima.

Junicon-sponsored Students graduate from Indigenous Culture Education Program in the Philippines

For more than 10 years, Junicon has supported a wonderful program at the Pamulaan Center for Indigenous Peoples Education in the Southern Philippines. This support has been enabled by the HOPE International Development Agency Japan, with whom Junicon collaborates to provide funding for students at the Pamulaan center.
Menstrual Hygiene in Rural Ethiopia

In Ethiopia, since 2004 we have worked with local communities to provide access to clean water and raise awareness about sanitation and hygiene, and in 2016 we expanded our projects to include the building of school latrines to improve sanitation in rural villages.

From February 2021 to the end of January 2024, the "Empowerment of Women through Community-Participatory Water Supply Project in Oida District" has successfully concluded. In this report, we present results of the project by comparing the findings from the initial conditions with the final assessments of the current situation.
HOPE at Osaka Marathon 2024

On Sunday, February 25, Osaka Marathon 2024 was held, and 7 of our 11 charity runners from HOPE completed the full marathon! Thanks to the efforts of all the 11 runners, including those who were not able to participate in the race due to health or other reasons, a large number of donations were raised, far exceeding the initial goal of 1,000,000 yen. Our sincere thanks to all runners and donors!
