Letter from Mike Alfant, Board of Directors Chairperson
Dear Friends of HOPE,
It is an honor to serve as the Chairman of the Board for HOPE International Development Agency Japan. Our singular focus on enabling the world's neglected poor to become self reliant is one that resonates deeply with me. I have been affiliated with HOPE for over 20 years, serving as Board member for over 10 years.
Having completed dozens of successful projects in Cambodia, Ethiopia and the Philippines, HOPE has developed and refined our expertise in areas including clean water, women's empowerment, sanitation and hygiene, community development and agricultural support. We work closely with our teams on the ground in those areas, both responding to acute requirements as they occur as well as executing against our long term roadmap in each country.
HOPE will continue to emphasize transparency and sustainability in endeavors. As a Japanese certified NPO for over 10 years, we hold ourselves to global best practice standards in all of our activities.
HOPE is an inclusive community, we welcome all like-minded individuals and organizations to join us in our mission to empower the neglected poor. Our annual galas and charity dinners in Nagoya, Kansai, Hiroshima, and Tokyo provide opportunities to learn about HOPE and get directly involved in our initiatives. As well, we hold a variety of fun and educational activities throughout the year. Please join us on this rewarding journey.
