What are Charity Runners?

Charity runners participate in the Osaka Marathon to enhance awareness of the event's charitable initiatives and broaden support for these causes. To become a charity runner, individuals must select a recognized charitable organization and raise a minimum of 70,000 yen in donations from family, friends, and other supporters.

Outline of Osaka Marathon 2025

The Osaka Marathon will be held for the 13th time. The course is the same as the previous year, with fewer turns and ups and downs, making it a course where personal records can be targeted.

Another attraction is that runners can enjoy the sights of Osaka, such as Osaka Castle, Dotombori and Shitennoji Temple, while running the marathon.

Donation Purpose

The Osaka Marathon 2025 has the slogan of "Making a Rainbow Together" and selected charitable organizations based on seven charity themes.

HOPE falls under three of these themes: "Supporting Education," "Supporting Health and Welfare," and "Supporting Life." The donations collected by runners will be used for the following three activities:

  1. Providing safe water supply (construction of wells and simple water systems)
  2. Women's empowerment (support for small-scale businesses led by women)
  3. Awareness-raising activities in Japan (creating educational videos to convey the situation and challenges in activity areas)
