2027 Osaka Marathon

HOPE International Development Agency Japan has been selected as an Official Charity Partner for the Osaka Marathon 2027.

This year, 11 charity runners will take on the full marathon in support of HOPE.

The official theme of the 2027 Osaka Marathon is "Rainbow Connect Together."

Each charity runner will run with their own personal motivation while helping share HOPE's message of "from water to self-reliance."

Charity runners are participants who take on the full marathon while raising donations for a charitable organization they have chosen as part of the Osaka Marathon Charity Program.

By inviting support from family, friends, colleagues, and others, they help expand the circle of giving beyond their own participation.

Donations raised through HOPE's charity runners will support our from water to self-reliance programs across Asia and Africa.

The Osaka Marathon is one of Japan's premier urban citizen marathons, held throughout the city of Osaka. Runners take on the 42.195 km course while passing many of the city's iconic landmarks, including Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, and Shitennoji Temple.

Donations raised through HOPE's charity runners will support HOPE's from water to self-reliance initiatives across Asia and Africa.

Beginning with improved access to clean water, we work alongside communities to address local challenges through programs tailored to their needs.

1. Improving Access to Clean Water
   We help create sustainable access to clean water by constructing wells, simple water supply systems, and other water facilities.
2. Education, Agriculture, and Women's Empowerment
   We support initiatives that strengthen community self-reliance, including education for children, improved agricultural livelihoods, and women-led community activities.
3. Awareness-Raising Activities in Japan
   We produce videos and educational materials that share the realities of the communities where we work and the positive changes taking place, helping more people understand the importance of international development.
