Dear Friends of HOPE,

Warm greetings from HOPE Japan! Wishing you a healthy and prosperous new year in 2026.

As we step into this new year, we remain deeply grateful for your unwavering support in helping the neglected poor become self-reliant. Your generous contributions allow HOPE Japan to bring clean water, education, and vital livelihood resources to communities in ultra-poverty. Together, we are making tangible progress toward lasting change.

Our New Year's Resolution at HOPE Japan for 2026 is to reaffirm our commitment to standing alongside those most in need, amplifying their voices, and expanding access to the essentials for health, education, and sustainable livelihoods.

Please continue to join us in this mission by attending one or more of our annual charity dinners in Nagoya, Kansai, or Tokyo, where we share inspiring updates and premiere our community development videos. Let us raise a toast to clean water, empowered women, and brighter futures!

Cambodia: Water and Education Projects in Pursat Province

In 2026, HOPE Japan plans to construct 17 wells and 55 latrines at homes and schools, benefiting approximately 467 families in Dei Kraw Horm, and we have plans to support 417 students of the 517 households (2,072 persons) of Angkrong Village with a school and surrounding areas through integrated community development.. Additionally, 15 family farms will receive cows to support sustainable agriculture and income generation.

Ethiopia: Progress in Southern Ethiopia

Building on the progress of our environmental conservation and afforestation activities implemented in 2025 in Uba Debretsehay District, Southern Ethiopia, we will continue our climate change–responsive environmental program during 2026.

The project will focus on afforestation, nursery rehabilitation, and gabion installation to prevent land degradation and natural disasters, while placing greater emphasis on environmental education for children and local communities.

Through environmental education conducted in three schools (two primary schools and one secondary school), we aim to foster awareness of sustainable land use and community resilience, empowering the next generation to contribute to a more sustainable future.

The project will directly benefit 3,698 students and teachers and indirectly benefit approximately 13,000 community members across eight villages in Zaba.

Philippines: Seeds of HOPE

HOPE Japan is providing more opportunities for higher education to Indigenous Youth in the Philippines who otherwise would be deprived due to social and financial reasons. We are deeply thankful to the generous donors that provide scholarship funds for these outstanding students.
