Supporting HOPE Charity Runners
Osaka Marathon 2024 has finished.
Osaka Marathon 2024 will be held on February 25, 2024. HOPE is as an official charity partner.
Now in its 12th year, Osaka Marathon aims to foster a culture of charity with runners, spectators, and volunteer staff participating in “Making a Rainbow Together”.
HOPE has undertaken national and international charity challenges before, including a 750 km bicycle ride through Cambodia, and a marathon challenge in Ethiopia. But this is our first full marathon. 11 people have entered as charity runners to support HOPE's project work.
What is a charity runner?
A charity runner participates with the aim of deepening the understanding of charitable activities and widening the circle of support. Widely appealing for donations, if an amount of 70,000 yen is achieved, the runner can compete as a charity runner.

Goal: ¥1,000,000
Project Period: December 1, 2023 ~ March 3, 2024
How donations are used
The donations received will be used for the following three activities.
1. Clean Water Supply
Wells will be built in Cambodia and a simple water supply system in Ethiopia that uses gravity to supply water without the use of electricity. People will have access to clean water close to their homes and will be released from the hard work of fetching water. It also reduces the incidence of diseases caused by dirty water.
2. Women's Empowerment
Provides training and small business support to women who have been freed from fetching water to improve their skills and self-fulfillment to become socially and economically independent.
3. Awareness-raising activities in Japan
Create films with stories of our beneficiaries that explain their situation and challenges to inform potential donors in Japan.
Goal: ¥1,000,000
Project Period: December 1, 2023 ~ March 3, 2024
Total donations to date: ¥1,648,777
