Quality Education: SDG 4 in Cambodia

During the holiday season we celebrate and share our blessings with family and friends. I imagine some of your fondest memories are with childhood friends that you met at school. Just for a second, imagine that you had no school to attend as a child. Where would you be today? You probably wouldn’t have those friends and perhaps would not be reading this, since you might have never learned how.

Providing access to a quality education is one way that HOPE Japan fulfills our mission of Helping the Neglected Poor Become Self-reliant. According to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: “Education is fundamental to creating a peaceful and prosperous world. Education gives people the knowledge and skills they need to stay healthy, get jobs and foster tolerance.”

SDGs - Quality Education

Today we have an urgent need to build a primary school for 202 students in Cambodia in Krapeu Peekrom village. The build site is ready, construction will take three to six months depending on weather. When completed it is given to the village and trained teachers are provided by the Cambodian Ministry of Education with sustainable funding.

With your support HOPE Japan can provide disadvantaged children in Cambodia with a path to a brighter future. Please donate this holiday season. Your gift will make a significant difference to those in most need.

Thank you!
