BBQ and Hanabi Show at Hillside Place

Hope International 2019 Summer Kickoff!

Please help us start the summer right by joining us for a lovely evening of BBQ, friends & fireworks at the lovely Hillside Place. We'll provide the BBQ and front row seats to the Suihoku Cho community's quinquennial hanabi show (Yes, that means only once every five years!!). As the lustral display begins shortly after dusk, arrive early so you have time to eat and catch up with the familiar faces and make some new friends.

But wait! There's S’MORES!

After we tuck away the dinner dishes, we'll break out the marshmallows, chocolate and roasting sticks!

As always, a portion of the evening's proceeds will go to our continued effort to bring clean water, improved infrastructure and quality of life to families and communities in need.

DATE: May 3rd (Fri - Golden Week)

TIME: 6 - 10 PM

VENUE: Hillside Place (private home in Seto)

COST: ￥3,500 per adult , ￥3,000 child 6-12 / under five is FREE

(we encourage you to bring your children for some family fun!)

The price includes fireworks, BBQ dinner, and basic beverages. We won't be serving alcohol, but don't let that stop you from bringing whatever libations your heart desires.

Access Information:

Hillside Place (a private residence) is on, wait for it... a Hillside. At the bottom of the hill is Hachiman Shrine. It is surrounded by trees. At the corner of the Shrine there is Yamada Barber Shop (you will see the classic barber pole). At the barber pole turn up the hill. It's are about two-thirds of the way. You will see a gravel driveway on the left with (vertical railway ties forming a kind of entrance.) Hillside Place is the third house in.

By Train:
The nearest train station is Naka Mizuno (15-20 minute walk). However, if you need a taxi, please come either to Kozoji Station (JR from Nagoya) or Shin Seto Station (Meitetsu from Sakae Machi). The taxi ride will take a few minutes from each and cost between ￥2,000 - ￥2,500.

By Car:
If using a navigation system, please enter the postal Code: 489-0009. It should bring you to the upper-side of the temple. But please take note of the directions above from Yamada Barber Shop and the temple. Parking is available directly in front of the front door, and on the left side of the drive coming in.
